The Max Cameron Theatre, now in its fourth year of operation, is located in Powell River, British Columbia. The facility was built by School District #47 as part of an expansion to the local high school that included a digital media center, acoustically-engineered choral room, film and video recording studio, and a dance and drama studio.
âThe Maxâ is a flexible performance facility designed for use in many different configurations by both school and community groups. It has quickly become one of the busiest venues in the community, housing major events for the Powell River Academy of Music, West Coast Jazz and Blues Society, Far Off Broadway Theatre Company, and Powell River Film Society. As one of four venues for International Choral Kathaumixw in the summer of 2010, the Max Cameron Theatre stage played host to choirs from around the world.
