Zero-waste advocacy and awareness. Reduce, Re-use, Recycle!
Zero Waste Events
By now you have likely seen our Zero Waste Stations in action at many of Powell River’s local events. This past summer and fall they made their colourful debut at PRISMA and then went on to SeaFair, Blackberry Fest, the Fall Fair, the Vale, Aurora, and the Haunted Ball to name a few.
Rather than put items into the trash, these stations encourage folks to separate their ‘waste’ into Metals, Plastics, Paper, Compostables, and Refundables. Each of the 5 bins carefully lists what is acceptable and how to properly dispose of special items. Pop cans, for instance, are rinsed first, bottle caps are removed, and paper napkins are perfect for the compost so long as it is not going to become animal feed.
Please let us know if you have an event that you would like to borrow the Zero Waste Stations for by contacting us at letstalktrashteam@gmail.com. We will happily guide you along the way to achieving Zero Waste at your event.
